| dc.description.abstract | The main objective of this study is to analyze the impact of informal economy on economic growth in Cameroon. This amounts to valuating the contribution of this economy on long-term and short-term economic growth. To achieve this objective, we used secondary data from the World Development Indicator (WDI) database (2020) and the Medina et al. database (2019) for the period 1970 to 2020. To analyze the effects of structural transformation on growth, we estimate a Non-linearity Autoregressive Distributed Lag (NARDL) model. We find that informal economy has a negative effect on long-run growth through education, while in the short-run this effect is positive. | en_US |
