Abstract

Organizations today, through their archiving services, appear as places of reference and conservation of heritage and to do so, they must be well organized. Despite efforts of various structures to improve classification of documents, archiving faces innumerable difficulties. It was from this problem that this work was appeared. The objective of this study is to highlight the methods of archiving documents in the District Municipality of EBOLOWA 2 council. Archiving has become in a few years an essential document conservation support and this is all the more the case for the national libraries in charge of the collection and the conservation of the whole of the scientific and cultural production of a nation. To do this, we administered a survey questionnaire to the employees of the said Municipality, we opted for a qualitative type of research, and the collected data was analyzed using SPSS software. Using Pearson’s chi-square test, we analyzed and tested the hypotheses. At the end of this analysis, the interpretation of the results obtained allowed us to conclude that there is a link between the archiving of documents and their quick access. We made recommendations that for proper record keeping, archivists should have a specific type of filing and archiving should be physical and digital.
