Abstract

This thesis entitled Rationalization and performance of the digital archive within the municipality of Ebolowa II examines traditional paper-based archiving, and the gradual implementation of digital archiving. The first step consists in present in the existing archiving methods and afterwards, assessing the extent to which that method is moving more and more towards digitalisation, with a rationalized support system. This work implied mobilizing a number of tools including direct and semi-direct interviews within the institution and also with certain users, in order to have a better understanding of the problem. Direct observation also allowed us to appreciate traditional and rising digital archiving methods. In the end, digital archiving showed to be an existing process within the municipal institution but with regards to structural constraints paper archiving seem to be a habit difficult to replace. However, with a pushing decentralization, the future lies in the rationalization of digital archiving.
