The diagnosis of sawn wood units in Cameroon, made during the development of the industrialization plan in 2012 revealed a certain number of weaknesses in the chain of transformation of wood in sawmill: A low material yield which is around by 30%. The minimization of material losses in the sawing process is an excellent step in the problem of establishing a further transformation. This is a problem of optimizing sawing. However, strategies based on planning sawing through the use of cutting patterns are being tested in other countries and are providing interesting results. In order to provide a possible solution to this problem, the present study relating to "the design of debitage diagrams to optimize the sawing yield of curved logs", was carried out within the SIBM sawmill located in Sangmélima, in the southern Cameroon region. The main objective was to produce the debitage diagrams in order to optimize the sawing performance of logs with defective curvature. More precisely, it was a question of taking the simulation parameters of the curved logs, of simulating the theoretical sawing of these logs from the design of the debitage patterns and of showing the usefulness of the use of these diagrams for the planning of the sawmill. Drawing on the methodology of Bouzinekis and Martin, on the parameters necessary to simulate a curved log, a sample of 04 Bilinga logs (Nauclea diderrichii) was used to plan the sawing of three sections of pieces. The results obtained following the analysis of the debitage diagrams made it possible to draw the following conclusions: the average yield of whole logs is 30.32% while that of logs after cutting is 44.52% of where shaping is essential for optimizing the yield of curved logs. It is therefore important to saw the log at the level of the arrow in order to make it as cylindrical as possible; It is necessary to choose the sections adapted to the diameter of the log according to the debitage mode, such that the width of the central plate is a multiple very close to the section of the piece to be sawed; the planning of sawing through the realization of flow patterns leads to an increase in the sawing yield of curved logs with an average of 20%.en_US
