Résumé: | v This study addresses the issue of sports performance by highlighting the role of the closed processing mode of belief information. It envisions those beliefs have effects on athletic performance. As this effect can be mediated by the psychosocial characteristics of Ligue One clubs, we were interested in two cameroonian football groups which each identify with a specific style of regulation, namely the Canon Sportif de Yaounde ( n= 33) and the Dragon from Yaounde (n=33). A global sample of N = 66 participants selected by the accidental method was thus administered a closed and semi-closed item questionnaire, consisting of four scales : inspired by FAGQSE model in English French Achievement Goals Questionnaire for Sport and Exercise was translated into French by Rion and al with 12 items and adapted in the Cameroonian sociocultural context. We chose the 2012 version it has 4 subscales measuring 4 achievement goals: Performance approach goals, performance avoidance goals, mastery approach goals and avoidance goals. Of Mastery Goals and is used to obtain an overall score of achievement goals or detailed score on each subscale. In order to validate our measuring instrument, we used a pretest. This pre-test was carried out at the Mateco Stadium of the University of Yaounde1 (5 questionnaires) and at the Acacia Stadium in the Biyem-Assi quarter with a football club ( Deux Zero) with former footballers (6 questionnaires). The results obtained by the chi-square calculation as well as the contingency coefficient (C) confirmed by the SPSS 17.0 software, revealed: • HR1 : The religious beliefs influence the production of football performances(x2 cal (39.284)> x2 lu (26.30); • HR2 : The traditional beliefs influence the production of football performances (x2 cal(40,582)> x2 lu(26,30) ; • HR3: The magico-religious beliefs influence the production of football performances. (x2 cal (33,592) > x2 lu (26,30). The discussion of these results highlights that beliefs influence the production of football performances, in particular about the behavior of a player during a match. Keywords: |
