Résumé: | This study entitled: Les Organisations Non Gouvernementales et le développement socioculturel et économique de la Commune d’Endom : cas de Plan international 1996-2020, undertakes a holistic analysis of the International Plan contribution in the development of the ENDOM local community population. This study thereby highlights the International Plan development actions in the ENDOM local community. The objective is to show the International Plan multifaceted contribution in the population’s development process. In order to achieve this objective, a set of theories were explored notably fonctionnalism, institutionalism, globalism. For data collection, a meticulous and painstaking field visit was carried on in the ENDOM local community, the different villages which contitute this community, as well as in the various ministries of the Republic of Cameroon to collect official sources. In addition, oral sources were privileged and their analysis were carried out among people whose testimonies were either concordant, divergent or complementary. An analytical and synthetic approach of all these documents were oriented to historical methods according to their specificity. Nevertheless, the qualitative approach represented the methodological backbone of this study, through the inductive, descriptive and incomprehensible approach, favoured the inscription of this study in the fruitful decentralised cooperation between the International Plan NGO and the ENDOM local community. As a result, this study highlights the importance of decentralised cooperation between NGOs and decentralised local authorities in favour of development. Thus, the International Plan considers the wellbeing of the ENDOM local population as their priority. The construction and rehabilitation of basic infrastructures like schools, hospitals are the fruits of this cooperation. The provision of these school infrastructures enables children to receive education under good conditions. Moreover, the International Plan participates in the sociocultural and economic integration of young girls and rural women in general. The International Plan developed a social economy around the AVEC adapted to the population’s aspirations. |
