Résumé: In context characterized by the ignorance of mother tongues by young people, the problem of cultural rooting ispresented as a subject of major interest. The objective of this research is to show the impact of national culture on the learning of mother tongues. To achieve such as goal, it was necessary to adopt a scientific method. First, we opted for quantitative analysis and collected the data through a questionnaire administrated to a sample of 50 Anguissa High School Students of «3em to Tle. These data were subjected to a descriptive and inferential analysis. It was immerges that all the variables taken into account to assess the impact of the national culture on the learning of mother tongues (performance in national culture) are significant. In this perspective, this research is part of a broad framework of reflexion already undertaken in Cameroon, that of enhancement and promotion of our languages and cultures through the school in accordance with article 5 the Education Orientation.
