dc.description.abstract | At the dawn of the 1990s, Cameroon is living a rather particular context of human rights and democratic. The democratization process leads to the implementation of associations. It is in this wake that the NGO Amnesty International has officially established its bases in Cameroon. The present work which focuses on this NGO is entitled: “Non-Governmental Organizations and the State of Cameroon: case of Amnesty International (1990-2020)”. This work highlights an evaluation of relationship between Cameroon and Amnesty International. In other words, it examines the often contentious relationship between Amnesty International and the State of Cameroon. It is based on a variety of documentation, including books, theses, dissertations, reports, oral testimonies, archival data and digital information. We have opted for a diachronic and hypothetic-deductive approach to show the complex nature of the relations between the two actors of international relations. Since the official activism of the NGO from 1990, it has presented reports on the human rights situation generally accusing Cameroon of going against the protection of human rights. Cameroon, on its part clarifies the situation in order to improve its image on the international scene. Despite the complexity of the relationship between the two actors, positives points such as the questioning of the Cameroonian State are mentioned. Some recommendations were made to improve relations on both sides. By encouraging collaboration towards an understanding can be expected in other to allow the respect for human rights. | fr_FR |
