Résumé: Our study on the town of Ngoro is based on the observation that the history of many towns in Cameroon is poorly known. This is the case of the town of Ngoro which is a rare commodity in many documents, even though its name exists in some, it remains superficial. However, Ngoro has also known or better still been part of the history of Cameroon. It has known the presence of foreign powers, Germany and France. The problem of this study is to make known the history of the town of Ngoro, or better still to study the stages of the evolution of Ngoro in space and time. We will proceed by collecting data using different sources: written, oral, digital and iconographic. This method will allow us to study and better understand the town of Ngoro, and in this sense we will first study the presentation of de locality: history and geography, focusing on its human environment. Secondly, we will look at the period from 1890-1920, the date marking the German presence in the locality of Ngoro, and thirdly, we will look at the French presence in the town, more precisely between 1920-1960. We will also talk about the French presence in the town between 1916 and 1960. 1960-2020 was the arrival of the French in Ngoro, and 1960 was the departure of the French from the town. In the fourth stage, we have made an assessment of the two powers, of their contributions in the development process of Ngoro on several levels. After the departure of the foreign powers from Ngoro, Cameroon, through the phenomenon of independence, will take its destiny in hand and will have to find solutions for the common good, especially for the development of the cities in general and Ngoro in particular. But its mission remains silent because Ngoro is still counted among the most isolated towns in Cameroon. At the end of our dissertation, we have noted after studying the town of Ngoro that it has remained monotonous after the departure of the Germans and France. We still find the same infrastructures left by the colonists. He also noted that the city is full of wealth that could boost the development of this locality, but the authorities are not sparing any effort to get the city out of this impasse. Despite the implementation of decentralization, Ngoro is still not part of the State's plans because of several shortcomings at all levels.
