Résumé: The present study is entitled "traumatic experience and narcissistic investment of the body in women victims of physical violence in the couple". The psychoanalytical literature informs us that the woman abused in a couple expresses herself fluently in relation to her losses, her suffering, her lacks and no longer on the basis of hope. She often reaches the disgust of life. His life is defined around his traumas. His energy, his strength is dissipated in his problem or in the attempts to recover a happiness that is often exhausting to regain or that is lost. She may want to make it happen through desperate efforts and then no longer manages to move forward, as if her life could no longer continue without her partner. Consequently, negligence sets in. It is sometimes extreme. Indeed, the trauma brutally transforms the object relationship, which has become impossible, into a narcissistic relationship where the molested body, mistreated by domestic violence, is neglected, abandoned, neglected, in short disinvested by many battered women. However, we have met women psychotraumatized by (physical) domestic violence who takes steps to beautify their bodies and look beautiful, to keep their attractive image. This led us to pose the problem of a possibility of positive narcissistic investment of the body in women psychotraumatized by physical violence in the couple. The objective of this study was to study the impact of the psychotrauma experienced on the narcissistic investments of the body of the woman victim of physical violence in the couple. To achieve this goal, we used the clinical method. Data were collected using semi- structured interviews with two psychotraumatized women, selected using the Trauma questionnaire. They were analyzed using thematic content analysis technique. The results obtained indicate that the participants over-invest in their bodies, which are perceptive thanks to factors such as the investment one has in one's life (self-love, self-confidence and self- esteem), of one's body (body schema) and of one's own image (image of the self), the bodily ego and the deployment of the drives. Also thanks to the analysis of non-verbal discourse, which revealed in the participants a particular interest in their bodies? Their appearance is marked by the care they give to their bodies. Thus, faced with the psychotrauma experienced, the Ego transformed the negative object relationship into a positive narcissistic relationship of the body to defend itself from the anxieties suffered.
