According to astrophysicists, the universe is just a collection of matter. This vision of the world is opposed to that of the ancient cosmogonies and to that of religious cosmologies in so far as the latter admit the existence of spiritual reality. This antagonism illustrates the fact that the universe in question still remains unknown. Consequently, a great tumult reigns both within human existence and within the realm of thought. Indeed, human existence is held in ligature by the problem of existential emptiness which disintegrates at the same time the human psyche, the relationships of Man with his fellow man and his relationship with the whole of nature. Furthermore, the thinking domain which has as its main poles: theology, philosophy and science, implodes because of three affects: the mythologization of science, the desubstantialisation of religion by modern theologians, and the transmutation of philosophy as an inspector of contemporary science. As a result, an avalanche of crippled knowledge contributes to the lack of access to understanding the universe. In order to solve these problems, it is necessary to seek the Being of the universe, and not only its corporeal aspect. It is on this momentum that we examine in our research the cosmology of the philosopher Wolfgang SMITH. Indeed, it was built in a crusade against reductionist scientistic ideas, and with the help of traditional metaphysics. In light of this thinker, three things stand out: First, the universe is a Theophany out of the divine Logos. Secondly, religion is the core of knowledge, because wanting to know the universe comes down to wanting to merge with transcendence. Finally, the being of Man is to name things. In other words, the act of understanding the Theophany in order to restore at the same time: the Man-nature link and the Man-transcendence link, is inscribed in human nature. In order to ensure the reconnection in question, Aesthetics presents itself as an adequate field. To this end, the sharing of the sensitive and the fusion of sensitivity with the spirit are instruments from which Man can act in accordance with his being.fr_FR
