Résumé: | In line with ODD (5) in favor of gender equality and the empowerment of women in various fields, particularly in science, there is also a strong desire to promote equity of access to scientific fields in the Cameroonian education system. It is also reflected in effective accessibility for both men and women in scientific fields. However, despite this multidimensional will, it has been found that a fine minority of women reach the higher level of scientific production and do not excel in the field. This is what leads this research to pose the problem of low notoriety in women's scientific productions. One can therefore ask, what explains the low awareness of scientific production of women in the basic sciences in the faculty of science of UY1? In a hypothetic deductive approach, the general hypothesis has been formulated according to which, certain factors related to educational orientation, social and institutional context determine the emergence of scientific productions of women in the Faculty of Science of the University of Yaoundé 1. Quantitative in its approach, this study focused on 50 permanent research teachers at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Yaoundé 1. Sampled according to simple randomness focused on the size of the accessible population, the information was collected using a questionnaire, focusing on direct and indirect modes of administration. The data was processed by SPSS software and the hypotheses tested by Pearson correlation. The results obtained show that the numerical under- representation of women in the field of science, sociological commitments and different stereotypes are resolutely obstacles to the scientific emergence of women. In addition, the effectiveness of quality assurance in scientific research contributes significantly to the scientific emergence of women. It is therefore desirable that a scientific framework specific to women be set up in order to compensate for the low profile of women in their scientific productions. |
