Résumé: This study examines the role of state disciplinary measures in the management of violence in schools: a study conducted in secondary schools in the Yaoundé 1 district. The research analyses the existence and relevance of a contingency link between the actions of state disciplinary systems and the management of violence in the school environment at a time when the socialisation of children is struggling to take place. The problem posed by this research is that of the inadequacy between the content and the objectives of state disciplinary measures, making it difficult to manage violence effectively in secondary schools in the Yaoundé 1 district. The aim was to analyse the impact of state disciplinary measures on the management of violence in these secondary schools. At the end of the surveys and field visits, we were able to confirm our general research hypothesis, formulated as follows: the action of state disciplinary mechanisms has an impact on the management of violence in schools in the Yaoundé 1er district. This general hypothesis was confirmed by the research and/or operational hypotheses. To do this, we used a mixed research approach, in which we used chi-square and content analysis to show the interdependence between the different variables. In addition, we drew on a number of reference theories that helped to shed light on our investigation. It should be noted that it would be wise for Cameroon's educational authorities to ensure that disciplinary systems are set up in line with the new realities of today's society. Parents, the educational community and society as a whole also need to be more involved. For effective supervision of children, particularly those predisposed to violent acts in the secondary schools of the Yaoundé 1 district.
