Résumé: | This research is entitled: “Psychosocial support and socio-professional integration of teenage mothers: a case study in the 7th arrondissement of the city of N'djamena-Chad”.. It is based on a preliminary survey of teenage mothers in Chad. The results of this survey showed that the phenomenon of teenage mothers is endemic, with 69% of girls having a child before the age of 18, according to figures from the Demographic Health Survey (2020). Chad shares the highest rate with Niger 76% and the Central African Republic 68%. Interest in early motherhood among adolescents is justified by the consequences it can have on demographic, socio-economic, psychological health, educational and professional levels. This research raises the problem of difficulties in the socio-professional integration of adolescent mother, in the context of social handicap based on vulnerability. Faced with this problem, the guiding question is: How can psychosocial support facilitate the socio-professional integration of teenage mothers in N'Djamena's 7th arrondissement? To answer this question, we formulated the following general hypothesis: psychosocial support Fac litates the socio-professional integration of teenage mothers in the 7th arrondissement of the city of N'Djamena-Chad, with the aim of pursuing their schooling and life projects, and maintaining social and family ties. Psychosocial accompaniment was operationalized in three modalities: counseling, mentoring and sponsoring, according to Maela's (2004) theory of accompaniment, a professional posture. Semi-directive interviews were conducted with our target population using the interview guide. Data were collected from 15 teenage mothers and evaluated using thematic content analysis. The results of this work underline that counseling through listening and advice, mentoring based on social guidance and orientation, and finally financial and material sponsoring promote the socio-professional insertion of teenage mothers. In particular, this integration was characterized by the continuation of schooling, the development of life projects and the maintenance of family and social ties. Moreover, self- determination is an essential element in enabling teenage mothers to pursue their studies, develop and realize their life projects, and maintain their family and social ties. Counseling, mentoring and sponsoring facilitate the socio-professional integration of teenage mothers in the 7th district of N'Djamena. This work helps to develop perspectives for appropriate awareness -raising. |
