Résumé: This study focuses on the psychosocial support and reintegration of children orphaned by AIDS aged 12 to 17 years in the 7th arrondissement of N’Djamena. According to the 2020 UNAIDS report, 45,1 million people live with HIV/AIDS worldwide. In 2020, approximately 680.000 people died from AIDS-related illnesses around the world. These children are stigmatized, rejected and discriminated against by society. These problems encountered by children orphaned by AIDS allow us to pose the problem of the social reintegration of children orphaned by AIDS. Faced with this problem, we can ask the following research question: does psychosocial support participate in the social reintegration of children orphaned by AIDS aged 12 to 17 years in the 7tharrondissement of N’Djamena? To answer this question of research, we formulated the following general hypothesis: psychosocial support participated in the social reintegration of children orphaned by AIDS aged 12 to 17 years in the 7tharrondissement of N’Djamena. Interviews are conducted with 5 participants. The collected data is analyzed by thematic content analysis. The results obtained are presented as follows: Children orphaned by AIDS often experience post-traumatic, stress, loneliness related to the loss of their parents and separation from siblings; The latter lack a parental substitute who must be attentive to meet their emotional needs, accompany them and help them express themselves without fear of being disturbed. Respondents have less than 5th grade education and one respondent has not fully attended school. The lack of schooling compromises the development and psycho-socio affective adaptation of children. The results obtained show that children orphaned by AIDS are not reintegrated into society. Consequently, psychological social and educational support contributes to the social reintegration of children orphaned by AIDS. This allows us to develop perspectives at the level of stigmatization, rejection and discrimination and another perspective at the level of actors involved with children.
