Résumé: The effective administration of schools is of particular importance in the steering mechanism of educational organizations. The objective of this study is to examine the education management information system (EMIS) and its contribution to the administrative efficiency of secondary schools in the Mfoundi division. The study started from the context that information and communication technologies (ICTs) have become more and more useful and more or less indispensable in our community, hence our interest in evaluating their contributions to the school administration. According to our findings, there is a problem of low contribution of the EMIS tool in administrative efficiency. The quantitative analysis conducted with the heads of thirty (30) secondary schools shows that although most schools in the Mfoundi department have a rudimentary management information system, the Education Management Information System on a Likert scale, helps in school administration. We therefore established a positive relationship between EMIS and the administrative efficiency of secondary schools in Mfoundi by asking research questions and testing hypotheses that were asserted and as a result, the study showed that EMIS enabled school administrators to make more informed decisions in improving education and training, curriculum planning and resource management and that the Mfoundi department school administrators' buy-in to that EMIS is a great tool for effective school administration.
