Our work focuses on the promotion of women in the Cameroonian army: From 1984 to 2001. In other words, it is not only a question of showing that the strategy of integrating women into the army has had an impact on the institutions of defense and society from 1984 to 2001. But also to evaluate the relationship of collaboration, complementarity and representativeness of the latter in the social and defense angle in this profession. In order to achieve these objectives, we used two main methods: the qualitative method, where we used primary sources or firsthand documents (archives, interviews with resource persons) and secondary sources (books, dissertations, theses, articles, newspapers). For the quantitative method, we used figures, tables, and charts. In relation to the research question, several anticipated answers have been used in our thematic study. At the outset, the main hypothesis is that the Cameroonian army is a means of strengthening the Cameroonian defense system. Similarly, we have opted for a thematic-diachronic approach. We have arrived at the results according to which, in Cameroon, the military and security domain has always been monopolized by men under the pretext that it is a man's job that requires a lot of virility and strength and that they were not made to handle weapons. Indeed, these are the social and cultural barriers that have kept women away from the Cameroonian army for 25 years. However, over the years, the percentage of women in the army has been gradually increasing, due to the social construction of Africa and the behavior of women, which influences the image that society has of them.fr_FR
