L’apport du diagnostic territorial à la relance du développement de la ville de nkongsamba

Abstract

The issue of territorial diagnosis occupies a prominent place in the discourse on development, planning and local development in Africa. In Cameroon, the issue of territorial diagnosis seems to be an emergency that needs to be addressed. This study, entitled "The contribution of territorial diagnosis to the revitalization of the development of the city of Nkongsamba", was carried out with the main objective of evaluating the contribution of territorial diagnosis to the revitalisation of the development of the city of Nkongsamba. We started from the hypothesis that the territorial diagnosis responds to the expectations of the city and implements political and economic strategies in the revival of the development of the city of Nkongsamba. In order to achieve our objectives, an approach was adopted, in particular the systemic approach, which helped us to better understand the realities on the ground in order to obtain the results contained in four chapters. Our analysis shows the evolution of the occupation of the town of Nkongsamba over the years and describes the strengths and weaknesses of this town. Furthermore, it also appears that the characteristics of the city of Nkongsamba from the socio-spatial formation of Di Meo and also listed the tools necessary for the establishment of a territorial diagnosis. Furthermore, our analyses show that decentralization in our country has evolved over the years but is still governed by a series of legal texts that are not really applied on the ground. This justifies the delay in the development of Nkongsamba due to the lack of transfer of competences necessary for better planning in the revitalisation of local development. It is also clear from the field data that the obstacles to the development of the town of Nkongsamba are, among other things, the non-application of texts, backward mentalities, etc., and that solutions such as twinning and shared awareness between the local authorities and the population can contribute to the revival of development in this town. Hence the urgency to focus more on territorial anchoring for a better territorial diagnosis as a response to the revival of the development of the city of Nkongsamba.
