dc.description.abstract | In the field of school, university and professional orientation, there is always the problem of choice of orientation which results in decision-making, commitment. The measure of support can encompass the parent-child-institution relationship, which constitutes a dilemma. In Cameroon, among the national texts, there is the Orientation Law of Education in Cameroon of 1998 which stipulates: “School orientation and psychology activities are carried out during the schooling of the child at all levels of education” (Article 9). In addition to this law, nearly fifty official texts were signed and published from 1945 to 2005 in the educational guidance sector in Cameroon. The present study took place in the city of Ebolowa and aims to determine how parental involvement through parental style and the feeling of efficacy, interferes with the choice of orientation of learners after baccalaureate. In exploring the problem posed, we adopted the qualitative approach and the data collected through the interview guide are presented in the form of a table. From the results obtained on the basis of the sample of five parents and five graduates, we proceeded to the counting. The evolution of the increasingly competitive, uncertain and even insecure social environment stigmatizes the importance of the school career and arouses the mobilization of families, regarding schooling but also daily life at school and life after a cycle such as the Baccalaureate. It emerges from these results, on the basis of this thematic analysis, that parental involvement contributes significantly to the choice of orientation after baccalaureate. | fr_FR |
