Résumé: This dissertation studies the notions of pseudonym and identity crossing in George Sand and Yasmina Khadra. It's about writers who have opted for pen names of the opposite gender. When writers adopt a pseudonym, they can perfectly alter their identity markers displayed by their name, whether it is their cultural origin, their class social or even their gender. Pseudonym strategies based on gender altération obviously depend on the sex of the writers who implement them. This research work analyzes different theoretical perspectives concerning the notions of pseudonym and identity crossing in the texts if above-mentionned writers. To this end, it highlights the reasons which pushed these authors to change thier nature, their respective writing context as well as the way in which the writing of the genre manifests itself in their works. This prompted us to ask this question: does this change of nature have an impact on the credibility of their writings? Answering this question will consist in studying the respective personal myth of these writers, through the method of analysis of Charles Mauron, which seems to us fruitful for giving a new reading of literary works.
