Our objective in this research work is to study the discourse of evangelization campaigns in order to show their impact on the receivers. Based on the sociopragmatic theory associated with the empirical-inductive approach, this work entitled: Adversing Discourses of Evangelism Campaings in Yaounde: Rhetorical and Pragmatic Games and implications. highlights the rhetorical and pragmatic functioning of evangelization discourse. After having scrutinized in turn the theoretical-methodological references, the rhetorical-pragmatic functioning of the said discourses and their theoretical and pragmatic performance, we have come to the conclusion that the discourses of evangelization campaigns are not accidental. They participate in a desire to communicate. They seek to convey a specific message and convince the public of the truth of the doctrines they convey. This way of communicating is animated by several intentions such as those of evangelizing, teaching, converting non-believers, raising awareness of a cause, strengthening the faith of believers. The intentions in turn are implemented by various discursive strategies endowed with worldviews and beliefs of thoughts coming from very specific social structures. All these mechanisms adopted through rhetorical and pragmatic elements aim to act on readers. This work thus supports the understanding of the rhetorical and pragmatic functioning of evangelization discourses in a context of social, cultural, religious, spiritual diversities, etc.fr_FR
