The aim of this study is to solve the problem of women's empowerment in Chad and to identify the consequences for their emancipation in society. To do this, we started from the observation that some women at the Kabalaye literacy center are unable to empower themselves properly, due to the ignorance that governs them and the lack of funding after their training. The center focuses solely on training, not on financing women's projects. Maintenance as a collection tool. This problem gave rise to a research question: how does functional literacy impact on the empowerment of women trained at the Kabalaye literacy center? The anticipated response to this question formed our general hypothesis, which is stated as follows: H.G: Functional literacy contributes to improving women's empowerment through language learning and training in small trades. To achieve this, we opted for the qualitative method and used interviews. We conducted interviews with five participants: a husband, a widow, a daughter-mother and two divorcees. . The results show a comparison of the five (5) cases analysed, and suggest that literacy brings enormous changes to the lives of the women trained at the Kabalaye literacy center. The operationalization of this general hypothesis gave rise to four research hypotheses formulated as follows: HR1: The instrumental knowledge acquired contributes to the empowerment of women trained at the Kabalaye Literacy Centre. HR2 : Specific technical vocational training contributes to the empowerment of women trained at the Kabalaye Literacy Center. HR3: Income-generating activities contribute to the empowerment of women trained at the Kabalaye Literacy Center. To achieve this, we opted for the qualitative method and used interviews. We conducted interviews with five participants: a husband, a widow, a daughter-mother and two divorcees. The results show a comparison of the five (05) cases analyzed, and suggest that literacy is bringing enormous changes to the lives of the women trained at the Kabalaye literacy center. |
