Résumé: | The research we conducted is titled: LITERACY OF CHILDREN WITH EDUCATIONAL NEEDS AND SCHOOL ADAPTION IN THE PROVINCE OF KANEM MAO. CASE OF THE EMERGENCY PROJECT TO STRENGTHEN EDUCATION AND LITERACY IN CHAD (PUREAT). Thus this study aims to resolve the problem of the difficulty of school adaptation of children with educational needs in the province of Kanem in Mao. From then on, we mobilized three explanatory theories namely: Goldratt's theory of constraint (1984), Locke's theory of goal setting (1968) and Weiss's theory of change (1995). To carry out this investigation, the following main question guided our reflection: Does the literacy of children with educational needs from the PUREAT project impact on school adaptation in the province of Kanem Mao? The anticipated response that results from this question constituted our general hypothesis which is stated as follows: H.G: The literacy of children with educational needs from the PUREAT project has a positive impact on school adaptation in the province of Kanem Mao. The operationalization of this general hypothesis made it possible to obtain four research hypotheses formulated as follows: HR1: the construction of classrooms for literacy training for children with educational needs by the PUREAT project has a positive impact on school adaptation HR2: the equipment of classrooms and the provision of a water point for children with educational needs by the PUREAT project has a positive impact on school adaptation HR3: Strengthening the skills of teachers and other supervisors for the literacy of children with educational needs through the PUREAT project has a positive impact on school adaptation HR4: Individualized monitoring and support for children with educational needs through the PUREAT project has a positive impact on school adaptation To test these hypotheses, we administered a questionnaire to a sample of 100 and we found 52 subjects made up of Chadian teachers benefiting from the PUREAT project and staying in Kanem province Mao. The chi-square test was used to test these hypotheses. The results obtained validate HR1, HR2, HR3 and HR4 at the significance threshold =0.05 with high contingency coefficients, respectively: C= 0.72 for HR1 C= 0.60 for HR2 C= 0.60 for HR3 C= 0.73 for HR4 Ultimately, the general hypothesis of this research was validated. We can therefore conclude that the literacy of children with educational needs from the PUREAT project has an impact on school adaptation in the province of Kanem in Mao in northern Chad. |
