Transports et développement socio-économique dans la Province du logone occidental au tchad de 1985 à 2023

Abstract

This research work focuses on transport and at socio-economic development in the Logone Occidental Province in Chad. It aims to dissect the impact of road, air and river transport on the socio-economic development of Western Logone. The gradual improvement of infrastructure by the various stakeholders allows the transport sector to fully play its role as a vector of development. The use of synchronic and diachronic approaches, and theories of economic growth, added value and localization makes it possible to understand how mass and cheap transport stimulates economic growth. Transportation companies often determine where transportation activities are densest. Their location positively influences the value of the products transported. The documentary corpus used consists of written, oral, digital and iconographic sources. The quantitative and qualitative methods usez made it possible to aubain the following rebuts: the existence of three modes of transport in Western Logone (road, river and air); the contribution of transport to the socio-economic development of the population of Western Logone; road transport as the most used, least expensive mode and a factor in reducing unemployment through the different jobs offered. But to optimize and derive the greatest benefit, to ove come the difficulties linked to the development of the transport sector in the Western Logone Province in particular and in Chad in general, the State and its various partners must increase their investments
