Résumé: | Cameroon’s education system faces many problems. In recent years, this phenomenon has been a major social concern, given its scope and the consequences it has had. The various courage that undermine the education sector and that attract our attention is the school loss of girls. This research attempts to describe how girls perceive the loss of education in their school context. The objective is to demonstrate that there is a link between socio-economic factors and the school loss of the MAFA girl from the North Cameroon region. Our objective was achieved through a joint study using the questionnaire method. The technical of our sample was based on the non-probabilistic sampling technic known as reasoned selection. In the course of our study, we used the data analysis technic that allowed us to exploit responses collected from MAFA girls from the public primary schools of Guider. From this analysis of the data, we note that MAFA girls are being lost because of many problems including early marriage, failure at school, and low motivation of the latter by their parents and they deplore the strict school regulations. The school administration in general does not satisfy them, this is due to the difficult relations with the management and the teachers. The MAFA girls in our sample denounce the lack of encouragement and low motivation of parents. These results reveal that socio-economic factors are a complex variable that influences the school loss of the MAFA girl. In the course of our work, the theories of inequality of educational opportunities as well as that of motivation have enabled us to demonstrate the influence of socioeconomic factors; economic factors on school loss because these factors in school therefore have an impact on school dropout. Therefore, MAFA girls should be able to benefit from supervision by their parent and the school administration, which would allow them to have a good image of themselves and their competence. |
