Résumé: This research looked at electoral participation in Cameroon. Its aim was to study the relationship between decision-making style and voting behaviour among Cameroonians of voting age. The theories of decision-making style and planned behaviour served as the theoretical basis for this work. Participants were selected using a purposive sampling technique. The sample consisted of 350 Cameroonians of voting age (n=149 males and n=201 females). Data were collected using a composite questionnaire consisting of a decision-making style scale (Bruce & Scott, 1995) and a scale measuring voting behaviour inspired by the theory of planned behaviour (Ajzen, 1991). The results obtained after correlation and regression analysis revealed that decision-making style influences the voting behaviour of Cameroonian citizens. Specifically, significant links were observed between rational decision-making style and intention to vote (r=.113, p<0,001; F=4,83, p<0,001 ) and its modalities, namely attitude towards voting behaviour (r=. 166, p<0,001; F=10,3, p= p<0,001), injunctive norms relating to voting behaviour (r=.169, p<0,001; F=11,7, p= p<0,001), descriptive norms relating to voting behaviour (r=.213, p<0,001; F=17,0, p= p<0,001) and perceived behavioural control relating to voting behaviour (r=.169, p<0,001, F=10,8, p= p<0,001). Significant links were also observed between dependent decision- making style and attitude (r=.149, p<0,001; F=8,22, p= p<0,001), injunctive norms relating to voting behaviour (r=.100, p<0,001; F=4,27, p= p<0,001), and perceived behavioural control relating to voting behaviour (r=.112, p<0,001, F=4,31, p= p<0,001). These results are discussed in the light of previous work and the reference theories that served as theoretical underpinnings in this work.
