Coopération hispano- camerounaise dans le domaine économique et social (1961-2021).

Abstract

The present study focuses on « la coopération hispano-camerounaise dans le domaine économique et social 1961-2021 » is part of Cameroon and Spain relations. This diverse and multisectoral relationship reached an important level with the celebration of its sixtieth anniversary on August 08, 2021. In this context, our interest in this work has been to examine the effectiveness of this cooperation from its inception until 2021. To achieve this, we have examined the historical, political, and diplomatic motives that have facilitated this cooperation. Furthermore, we have focused on the achievements made in the areas under study. We have taken into consideration the national and international contexts and dynamics that have influenced the choices of both partners in the implementing their various achievements. Additionally, our approach to collecting data and information in the field has been qualitative. We also used developmentalist, realist, liberalist and neoliberalist theories as interpretative frameworks to grasp the ins and outs of this cooperation. This led us to the following results: the relationship between the kingdom of Spain and Cameroon predates 1961. Its objectives were to accelerate the economic and social development of Cameroon and to establish Spain as an attractive force on the international stage. However, this longstanding cooperation remains discreet, modest and nascent. Trade between the two countries fluctuates and remains generally low. Education, health and the fight against social inequalities are among the areas that give this cooperation a proud allure. Nevertheless, it is desirable, for both parties to demonstrate genuine political will so that this cooperation can be dynamic and radiant for the future of their diplomatics relationship.
