Abstract

This dissertation by the title: “Families, poverty, satisfaction of basic needs: logic and strategies of households in the district commune of Yaoundé III. » Is the result of academic work carried out in Yaoundé III. The choice of this locality was not made at random but not only due to being the largest administrative district of the department, the massive exodus of populations on a daily basis swells its population. This research was carried out with the aim of unsealing the resilience, the strategies that the populations of the district of Yaoundé 3 highlight to circumvent the ambient poverty in this locality. Preventing them from perfectly satisfying their fundamental needs or at least some of their needs. What strategies do families in the context of poverty develop to meet their basic needs in the Yaoundé III district? So the main question is: What are the strategies that families in the context of poverty develop to satisfy their basic needs in the district of Yaoundé III? The hypothesis formulated states that: Families in a context of poverty develop several strategies to meet their basic needs in the district of Yaoundé 3. To do this, a sample of 100 households was required to allow us to collect the relative data to this study. But also interviews with the same perspective were set up with certain sectors, municipal officials, the sub-prefect of the locality, religious and association leaders and many others. This via a mixed study method combining (the qualitative and the quantitative).
