Résumé: | The aim of this study is to identify the representations speakers' representations of French, Arabic (literary) and local local languages at Télé Tchad. To this end, our research focuses on: "CHADIAN AUDIOVISUAL MEDIA: places of linguistic representation and domination". The representations are relevant to all sociolinguistic research. They are an object of study for understanding the systems of positioning and and affirmation systems in place within the audiovisual media, particularly Télé Tchad. The central question is therefore: what are the representations of Chadian audiovisual media? Do these express linguistic domination? The aim is to to show how the Chadian audiovisual media, and Télé Tchad in particular the source of various conflicting representations. We intend to demonstrate based on Sol Amougou's (2018) work on the minimization of languages. It shows that the multilingual context probes the continual scene of representations that reflect the domination of foreign languages over local languages. To illustrate this, we conducted a sociolinguistic survey in the city of N'Djamena, based on a sample of 300 interviewed by questionnaire. The results obtained from this study show that the cohabitation between French, Arabic and local languages on Télé Tchad leads to linguistic domination. According to the perception of our respondents, French is and remains the language of prestige, dominating because it is more followed and more requested to be broadcast more. Secondly, local languages whose broadcasts are more followed and even more requested after French. And finally, Arabic which is more broadcast but less requested than the other languages. |
