Our research focuses on the relations between Cameroon and the United States of America from 1992 to 2022. It aims to answer the central question: How has cooperation between Cameroon and the United States of America delevoloped between 1992 and 2022? The study takes an unbounded historical approach, relying on qualitative analysis of information from diverse oral, archival, documentary, and empirical sources subjected to historical scrutiny. The succinct results are as follows: The relations between Cameroon and the United States result from a range of factors and are supported by issues that reflect significant mutual interdependence between the partners. Despite substantial collaboration, marked by mutual benefits, this cooperation still bears the hallmark of assistance, characteristic of North-South relations. The disputes surrounding this cooperation stem, on one hand, from remnants of American supremacy and interventionism inherent in their power, and on the other hand, from the quality of Cameroonian governance. While not fatal, the latter reminds Americans of the infamous concept of a "failed state," fueling their persistent ambition to override Cameroonian sovereignty in the name of defending certain principles dear to them but not universally accepted or viewed the same way by Cameroonian leaders, who increasingly resist. However, the consequences of this situation weigh more heavily on Cameroon in this partnership and its relations with several other states. Hence, it is essential for Cameroon to consider the numerous criticisms directed at it by the American partner.fr_FR
