Intertextualité biblique dans les romans d’Eliette Abécassis : le cas de la répudiée et alyah

Abstract

In this master’s thesis, we study biblical intertextuality in the novels of Eliette Abécassis: the case of La répudiée and Alyah.The latter’s texts generally focus on various themes, but we note that the most important theme for her is religion. Intertextuality is a complex notion and very difficult to define in a brief way, because it is variable and complex, but an important characteristic for defining intertextuality are metaphorical terms that signify in a less technical way the: weaving, library, interlacing, incorporation or quite simply dialogue.Thus, for an intertextual study, we ask ourselves some research questions.The first question focuses on how Abécassis draws inspiration from the Bible in his writings and his worldview.The second question asks how she insinuates biblical terms and expressions into her works.The third question consists of knowing how the Bible appears in Abécassis as a source of inspiration. And the last question at the end asks us about the role of religion in society.Concerning the analysis itself, we have chosen psychoanalytic criticism as the methodological framework. While respecting the methodology established by Charles Mauron, we have subdivided our work into four main parts.The first part of this research consists of superimposing the texts.The second part concerns the uncovering of figures and dramatic situations linked to fantastic production. As for the third part, it leads us towards the discovery of the author’s personal myth. And finally the fourth part which concerns the personal myth as a staging of the unconscious fantasy of the writer.
