Résumé: This thesis is entitled: Human Resources Management and Professional Performance. A survey conducted in high schools and secondary schools in the city of Moundou in Chad. It is a study that starts from the observation of professional disengagement and non-compliance by teachers in high schools and secondary schools in Chad, not only with their specific statutory obligations but also with the ethical and professional standards of the teaching profession, resulting in a drastic and progressive decline in the academic level of students over the years. One of the most advanced and controversial reasons is the human resources management method adopted by the heads of secondary schools. Also, faced with the embarrassment caused by the debate, we asked ourselves whether there is a link between the management of teachers in high schools and secondary schools in Chad and their professional performance. In other words, what link can be established between these two variables or to what extent are they linked? Our objective was to verify the existence and relevance of a contingency or determination link between management style and professional performance. Through both a theoretical and empirical approach, this analysis of teacher management practices and their influence on academic performance reveals that well-structured teacher management policies or styles stimulate teaching staff commitment to higher professional performance. We opted for a hypothetico-deductive approach, which combines deductive and inductive approaches. We started with factual observations on the possible link between human resource management and professional performance. We then analyzed the situation to arrive at inductions, reformulated and verified our hypotheses, and finally made deductions or inferences for generalization. This thesis concludes that professional performance among high school and middle school teachers is dependent on the management style adopted by the heads of these institutions (high school principals and middle school directors).
