| Résumé: | This research highlights the obstacles faced by drug-addicted ex-inmates when returning to society. It is based on a set of empirical data retracing their journeys after their release from prison. The main objective is to analyze the link between social identity and the resocialization of drug-addicted ex-inmates of the Kondengui central prison, based on a sample of 92 participants recruited by the network sampling method. Information was collected using a self-administered questionnaire, integrating the social identity scale developed by Cheek and his colleagues (Cheek and Briggs, 1982; Cheek, 1989; Cheek, Smith and Tropp, 2002; Cheek and Briggs, 2013; Cheek et al., 2014), as well as the resocialization scale by Cao et al. (2022). The study draws on social support theory, which emphasizes that feeling loved, supported and integrated into a social network promotes an individual's ability to manage stress, thereby mitigating the negative effects of stressful situations on physical and mental health. Using SPSS V.23 software, descriptive and correlational analyzes were conducted. The main hypothesis according to which social identity is linked to the resocialization of drug-addicted ex-inmates has been partially confirmed. The results reveal that personal identity (r = 0.454; p < 0.01), relational identity (r = 0.409; p < 0.01) and public identity (r = 0.435; p < 0.01) are significantly linked to resocialization, while no significant relationship was observed between collective identity (r = 0.165; p = 0.272) and resocialization. drug addicted ex-convicts. |
