| Résumé: | This study, entitled "The Use of Evaluation as a Quality Assurance Tool in teaching at the University of Ndjamena," explores the systematic role of evaluation in improving academic quality. Although evaluation is recognized as a pillar of quality assurance, few studies analyze its specific role in the context of the University of Ndjamena. The objective was to determine whether the systematic use of evaluation as a quality assurance tool would ensure quality. The question at the center of this study is: would the systematic use of evaluation as a quality assurance tool ensure the quality of teaching at the University of Ndjamena? By adopting a quantitative approach with inferential analysis via questionnaires, it tests the hypothesis that the systematic use of evaluation would ensure the quality of teaching at the University of Ndjamena? Data collection was carried out through questionnaires with a sample size of 52 respondents who are teachers. The results reveal that among the four dimensions analyzed; living/working conditions of teachers, evaluation methods, quality of programs and living conditions of students, two show marked dissatisfaction (living/working conditions of teachers and evaluation methods), while the other two (quality of programs and student conditions) reflect moderate satisfaction. However, the data partially confirm the link between systematic evaluation and perceived quality, in accordance with the theories of satisfaction and perceived quality. Thus, results lead us to propose some suggestions to improve or strengthen the quality in this university, suggestions are proposed in favour of the dimensions with which teachers are dissatisfied and also to strengthen the other dimensions to ensure and guarantee quality at the said University of Ndjamena. |
