Résumé: Our study is entitled "The importance of language acquisition and the impact of intellectual development in autistic children managing the transition between home and preschool: the case of CSBJFK". The birth of an autistic child brings about many changes within a family and many do not know how to deal with them. Many believe that, since language is not really acquired or even non-existent in some, they are not gifted with intelligence; hence the fact of not educating them. It is in this logic that this study is interested in the link between language and the development of intelligence in autistic children. The problem posed here is that of the preschool transition in autistic children in a situation of language acquisition. The research question arising from this problem is how does language acquisition have an impact on the intellectual development of autistic children? Based on psycholinguistic theories, mirror neurons and social interactions, we formulated the general hypothesis that language acquisition has an impact on the intellectual development of autistic children. From there, the objective was to study language by investigating its construction, the role of interactions in its development and the construction of thought in its implementation. To do this, we used the case study. The data was obtained using direct observation on the 03 autistic children of the JOHN F. KENNEDY bilingual school complex and semi-directive interviews with 02 teachers of an inclusive school and with 03 parents of said children. We used the analysis of content themes to analyze this data. The results obtained from this study show that the elements put in place in the language acquisition process actually have an impact on the intellectual development of autistic children. These results are largely present at the conclusion of our work.
