Dysfonctionnement du lien familial et conduites addictives aux drogues chez l’adolescent

Abstract

This research is entitled “dysfunction of the family link and addictive behavior to drugs among adolescents”. The issue of addictive behaviors among adolescents is a growing phenomenon throughout the world and in Cameroon in particular. Each week that passes, numerous cases of drug consumption among adolescents are recorded despite the actions undertaken by the government. A period of transition which follows childhood and precedes adulthood, adolescence is characterized by numerous upheavals on a biological, psychological and even social level. Tsala Tsala (2002), argues that this is a difficult period during which the individual searches for their own identity. It must be situated in relation to the child he is leaving and the adult status towards which he is moving. For this he needs security, emotional support, space and time from his family to whom he is linked. However, parental neglect, rigid functioning, absence of meaningful connections and misunderstandings hinder the construction of one's own identity and lead to feelings of insecurity and distress. This is what is at the heart of the most severe problems such as delinquency and drug addiction (Claes, 2004). The research is part of a comprehensive paradigm based on a qualitative design. Data is collected from four participants at the HCY “Life” center, all aged between 15 and 17 years old. Content analysis is the analysis technique used. The main results highlight that adolescents are still perceived by parents as children, they do not see in them individuals who have evolved, changed and who need a certain amount of supervision. These are the situations that lead to a feeling of distress and unhappiness that the adolescent tries to inhibit through the abusive use of drugs. Thus, addiction makes you bear the unbearable and allows you to get rid of painful affects.
