Des entropies locales à l’entropie générale : une théorisation de l’ordre cosmique

Abstract

Thermodynamics is born from the break of physics with classical dynamics which was a deterministic physics. As matter of fact, the dynamical physics was based on individual trajectories whose results were predictable. On the other hand, thermodynamics which originates in quantum physics, will be based on trajectories of entire populations of particles, will break with the determinism of classical dynamics by putting an end to the myth of a science of deterministic certainties. At the heart of this new physical paradigm is an architectonic principle or even a fundamental category, namely entropy. Talking about this entropy, the problem it raises is situated at its evolution’s direction. A question that creates curiosity and originality. In fact, the entropy’s evolution which is regarded by the physicist as a simple matter of physico- mathematical calculuses in that entropy is an additive state’s function; this worries the philosopher, because this direction influences the being’s existence. Sometimes, it expresses either death or life of the concerned system. The issue here is that, since everything could be considered as a thermodynamical system, the message of entropy targets all nature in general and human nature in particular. All things considered, this issue generates anxiety and existential anguish, and therefore it interests the philosopher, since man’s and the whole nature’s fate is envolved. The issue is no longer the physicist’s one but especially the philosopher’s. At this level of thinking, it is about considering back the local entropies and the universal one,so as to put them in relationship with the human existence and the whole universe.It is no longer about philosophizing to know the world and better understand oneselves, but about to doing it to save one’s own skin, because the entropy’s message could annonce the worst. Luc Ferry was saying : « we do not philosophize to entertain, neither to understand the world nor to understand ourselves, but to save ourselves, sometimes. »2Hence, it is question to deepen knowledge about entropy and discover its true message, in case it is wrong and adopt endly a becomingly behavior.
