| dc.description.abstract | The deprivation of freedoms by violent separatists through imposed “ghost towns” in North West and South West regions of Cameroon since 2016, is an incongruity according to the law and regulation in force. It is a situation in which a minority prohibit commercial activities, while the majority who find themselves cramped, defy them by circumvented strategies dispite the risks. Therefore, we can say that the deprivation of liberties through “ghost towns” gave rise to a particular form of resistance against all odds that Brehm (1966) called psychological reactance. Exploring reactance models in literature, Dillard and Shen (2005) developed a famous theory of psychological reactance. However, the so-called famous model and other literature did not mention the conative way of managing reactance whereas the circumvented strategies used by Bamenda traders appeared to be expressive in recovering freedoms. The general objective is to measure the predictive validity of the attitudes of Bamenda traders afferent to “ghost towns” (IV) and the management of psychological reactance (DV), to better estimate the relation between our variables. According to the ultimate step of regression (SPSS 25) with a sample of 150 questionnaires and proportionately selecting 50 traders from each of the three subdivisions Bamenda I, Bamenda II and Bamenda III, a statistical significance is noted between the IV and the DV | fr_FR |
