Franco-Cameroonian relations date back to march 4, 1916, following the departure of the Germans from the territory. After the outsting of the Geemans, Cameronn was jointly administered by France and Britain. From this year onward, France began its socio-sanitary activities, continuing with what the Germans had started. This study, focuses on French health assistance to Cameroon, from 1916 to 2020. In other words, it examines France’s health assistance to Cameroon, highlighting how she invested in the sector, particularly in areas such as the training of local healthcare professional, construction of infrastructure and provision of equipment. In constructing the study, we employed the chronological approach, in analyzing the origin, evolution and impact of French health assistance in Cameroon during the period of study. Th multidisciplinary approach was also made use of, with insights from various social science disciplines to enrich our analysis. The study reveals that whileFrance’s health assistance to Cameroon was indeed significant, it did not solve the public health problems facing the country. Despite these challenges and fresh guidelines for health cooperation between both countries, the situation in Cameroon remains alarming.en_US
