Abstract

Volcanic ativities explerienced by entire noun division has caused given birth the establihsment of several volcinic edifices on the left bank of Noun. These edifices could be valorized to serve as touristic sites. After analysis, we unfortunately see that these volcanic edifices are under-exploited. This under-exploitation is related to a lack of infrastructures in the different sites. Despite the role of different stake- holders in tourism, the left bank of the Noun is not amongst the touristic destinations of visitors to Cameroon. Yet a valorising these buildings could boost touristic activities on the left bank of the Noun and everywhere thereby impacting on the economic and social developments in the region. From the aerial photogtaphs and field surveys, we could clearly see the various touristic attractions of the volcanic edifices of the left bank of the Noun and the rehabilitation works realized on these volcanic edifices. This work has also enabled us to identify the different stake-holders, to address the short-comings of tourist development on the sites. It also allowed us to highlight the categories of visitors, types of activities touristic seasons and the duration of their stay. Considering the place of tourism nowadays, several policies were adopted by the administrative authorities to develop the potentialities of the volcanic edifices of the lef bank of the Noun and to stimulate touristic activities.
