Résumé: The quest for development is an aspiration common to all less developed countries. Such aspiration is accompanied by initiatives and more concrete tools applicable on the field. Meanwhile, these tools depend on the sector which we undertake to develop. It’s in this trend that in a bid to develop tourism, the Cameroonian government elaborated a sectorial strategy for the development of tourism. However, a decade after the implementation of this policy, Kribi is not yet A tourist destination as expected. This work aims at analyzing the strategies developed by various stakeholders to develop the tourism activity in our zone of study. The analysis of these strategies and their impacts on the development of tourism on the coast of Kribi reveals that there is a diversity of actors but an in adaptation of strategies to develop this sector which is relevant for economic growth. As such, tourism communication is not sufficiently developed, finances and subsidies are limited and the qualities of services offered by tourist establishments do not respect international norms. Such situation does not only affect the image of the destination with undeniable advantages but also slows down the development of tourism along the coast of Kribi progressively. To this analysis, it is urgent to undertake a certain number of measures which will help in boosting and developing the sector. Above elaborating a sectorial code aimed at encouraging investments in the domain of tourism, it’s worth reinforcing the capacities of actors, and putting in place a marketing program better adapted to the context of globalization nowadays.
