Résumé: This study on « Museums as factor of promoting tourism in Cameroon: case of the museums in Yaounde» has been made in order to evaluate the impact of museal activities on the development of tourism in the town of Yaounde. The main hypothesis drawn from this topic announces that museums have a strong capacity of attraction on the national and international tourists. To verify these hypotheses, we used a hypothetic-deductive method adapted to our topic. This method helped us to confront the starting assumption with the field data organized into six chapters. In fact, museal activity, in the majority of the developed countries proved to be an asset for tourism, which is not always the case on our premises in Africa and especially in Cameroun. From this, we realized that museum in Cameroun remains empty; less people are interested in it. Generally, in Cameroon, people consider museums like something not interesting. We also noticed that foreigners are more passionate and some national educated person by museal activities. It is in this order of idea that the document of sectoral strategy of development of tourism in Cameroun raises the question of the insufficiency of the museums in Cameroun, and stipulates that there should be some in each area. This still shows the place of this institution in the development of tourism in Cameroun. In addition, this study showed that these activities have an important impact on the touristic development process in Yaounde. In fact, as well in terms of incomes as profits, and even the blooming of national and international visitors, these activities seem to be able to accompany tourism within sight of the richness, which it abounds. It can be important as well for the government as NGOs and even populations to adopt some resolutions in order to permit a better following day not only for museal institutions, but also for the promotion and development of tourism in Cameroon.
