Résumé: This work is centered on the study of pedagogical renovation devices in geography with the adoption of the Competency-Based Approach (CBA) with real life situations initiated by the Ministry of Secondary Education (MINESEC), from a systemic and didactic point of view. Based on a survey carried out on the functioning of the general secondary education, findings revealed inadequacy in the content and techniques of geography teaching. It is therefore necessary, to meet the challenges facing Cameroon, to provide general secondary education with appropriate management methods. In this respect, the systemic and cardinal paradigms seem to be able to play a role in exploring the relevance and contribution of such a device to the quality of teaching and learning in geography. Field survey resulted to some proposals in areas like didactics of geography, training design and curriculum design.
