Exploitation du potentiel touristique et développement local dans l’arrondissement d’Akono.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to initiate the exploitation of the touristic potential in the district of Akono with in perspective, the local development. The study goes from the assessment that Akono has a touristic potential that is unelectable, yet that touristic potential is meanwhile not exploited and is in a state of deterioration. From then on, our objective is to bring a number of suggestions that will contribute to promote in a better manner the touristic potential of the District of Akono. As far as methodology is concerned, we went from a systemic approach combined to a research based on documents, and some investigations led on the ground. In order to generate results that are as close as possible of our objectives, we interviewed professionals who work in fields that are closer to tourism- with interview guides provided. The results that we consequently obtained at the end of the thematic analysis of our work teach us that the district of Akono has at its disposal a very diverse touristic potential that is yet to be exploited. The main reason for that lack of exploitation comes from the shortage of dynamism of local elites who have as priority the pursue of political careers. However, the exploitation of touristic potentials from other smaller districts compared to Akono generated impressive results in terms of betterment of living conditions of populations in these cities and villages. Finally, our study emphasizes the set up an effective participative development-in which the role of each and every stakeholder is clearly defined.
