Esthétique littéraire et inter culturalité dans la Mer des Roseaux d'Emmanuel Matateyou

Abstract

Our dissertation is entitled « Literary aesthetics and intercuturality in La Mer des roseaux by Emmanuel Matateyou ». In this study, we wish to show the implications of Matateyou’s literary aesthetics in La Mer des roseaux by applying to it the sociocriticism theory of Claude Duchet and Pierre Zima. This literary theory states that the literary aesthetic of a work of art reveals social ideologies. Thus by using sociocriticism in our research work we will be able to demonstrate that, the impressive mixture of subjects, narrative patterns and genres as well as the mingling of orality and scripturality that characterize Matateyou’s writing in this particular novel, bears a signification that is the valorization of interculturality, or better still, that of universalism.
