Résumé: | In the growing information society, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) are a homogenizing factor and an excellent investment for improving school performance and ensuring equal opportunities. So, regardless of their social background, teachers and students nowadays will have to deal with these technologies. Geography teachers are increasingly invited to update their modes of action, their methods and to redefine their teaching/learning practices. However, will the zeal to use "ICT" tools and the orientations of educational policies guarantee the evolution of educational practices and their effectiveness, and under what conditions? The goal of this research is to understand these new issues, which are not only relevant at the university level, but are also relevant in secondary education with the development of ICT tools- telephones, computers, learning platforms, e-Learning and the implementation of a new pedagogic approach- the Competency-Based Approach. On the one hand, this research proposes the foundations of the concept of "didactic status" of ICT, which serves as a methodological tool to understanding the complexity of the educational level in the teaching of Geography in Form 5, while strengthening the relationships and interactions and structuring ICT integration and strategies used by teachers and students. On the other hand, it deals with academic success in Geography at the secondary level in Cameroon. It aims to determine the positive or negative influence that stem from the use of ICT by teachers and students in Form 5. The survey using probabilistic sampling method focused on teachers and students of Government High School Biyem-Assi. The results of the investigation show that "the use" of ICTs is not only hindered by the inadequacy of the devices put in place, but also the complexity of the interactions between structures and processes in place. The results also outline some principles that would facilitate the evolution of the process. |
