The study carried out relates to the self-esteem and the consumption of narcotic drugs in school environments. The school considered as an institution socialization and civilization for pupils has been transformed into a place for the consumption of narcotic drugs. This observation, prompts the following question: is there a link between self-esteem and narcotic drugs consumption? From this main research question, arises the interest to clarify reasons for this deviant behaviour in school environments. This has been done by verifying the general hypothesis according to which there is a link between the self-esteem and the consumption of narcotic drugs in the school environment. To accomplish this research, a qualitative study was carried out on five pupils of Government Bilingual High School of Ebolowa II considered as the accessible population of the study. After analysing the data obtained from the interviews with these pupils, the general hypothesis was confirmed at 73.33% and invalidated at 26.67%. From these results, and their interpretation, several recommendations were made according to the research hypotheses, then general recommendations to students, parents, General Supervisors and Guidance Counselors.fr_FR
