Évaluation du système de production de la menuiserie semi-industrielle de l’institut technique Don Bosco

Abstract

The actual context of this research is based on the fact that maintaining competition requires a good mastery of the enterprise precisely with the help of working method which can guarantee production without loss, flexibility and focused on customer satisfaction. In a bid to protect its forest and to encourage the massive transformation of wood in Cameroon, the Law 𝑛𝑜 94/01 of 20𝑡ℎ January 1994 governing forest regime, wildlife and fishing, bans wood exportation in the form of timber except the unforbidden variety. However, it is observed that a good number of second and third wood transformation enterprises sprout but crumble soon after. The main objective of this study is evaluating the production system in order to ameliorate the performance of the enterprise; more specifically to identify and analyses the present production system in carpentry and identify the causes linked to the losses which are responsible for low production rates and also propose remedial ideas. The data which was used to carry out this critical analysis on the system and its cartography emanated from interviews with the personnel of the enterprise, direct observations, the cartography of SIPOC, qualitative and quantitative inventory of tools and human resources which permitted us to identify the malfunctioning’s of the enterprise. Hence, the cause and effect diagram of Ishikawa permitted us to present in groups all the causes responsible for the losses registered by the enterprise. As a result, we found that the main causes of productivity reduction were related mainly to production methods, to the workforce and the production means. Finally, we proposed strategies which we think can contribute to ameliorate the production system of the enterprise.
