Résumé: In Cameroon, the operation of water meters and by extension, the delivery of invoices which results therefrom is often subject to claims from customers who do not accept the consumption which is allocated at the end of the month. This brings along pirated meters and degraded water installations. So, given this situation, given also the technological evolution and its accessibility which is easier for us, we were led to ask ourselves how we could improve the water meters, make them more intuitive and automatic compared to current water meters? As a answer to this problem, very often source of misunderstanding and conflict between customers and the company in charge of the supply of water in households (CAMWATER), we propose to design and produce a smart water meter in prepaid mode. This will work with embedded systems technology, named Arduino in our case, for prepayment use RFID technology and GSM technology for communication. This meter will allow the customer to pay just the amount of water he will need, to control his consumption status at any time and to be able to close the arrival of his water meter remotely.
