The present study is entitled « Prison Education and social reintegration: The case of Ebolowa central prison », it starts from the observation that despite the multiple efforts by the public authorities and the prison administration to facilitate the reintegration of inmates, most ex-convicts still reoffend. Based on this observation, we asked ourselves the main research question, namely: Does prison Education facilitate the reintegration of prisoners? From this main question unveiled three secondary questions, namely: Does informal Education promote the reintegration of detainees? ; Does literacy facilitate the reintegration of prisoners? ; And Does vocational training promote the reintegration of prisoners? To understand and explain the observed fact, we have summoned here the theory of labeling, the theory of rehabilitation labeling and that of criminal withdrawal. Thus, as a methodology, we used direct observation v and qualitative method through an interview guide. The data collected was processed on the basis of a thematic content analysis. At the End of our various interviews and after data processing, it appears that prison education influences the reintegration of inmates on the one hand and the informal education transmitted within the prison also facilitates the social reintegration of inmates. We formulated recommendations both to the state, to the prison administration, the trainers as well as the inmates themselves.en_US
